Under Section 201 of the 2010 Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act (HHFKA), an additional reimbursement of 6 cents per lunch is available for school food authorities (SFA) certified to be in compliance with the new school meal patterns. This presentation provides instruction on how to properly complete the certification worksheets developed by the North Carolina State Agency to certify menus meeting the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act.

Civil Rights Civil Rights Training for Child Nutrition Programs 2012-13 (Duration: 31:21)
The purpose of the required Civil Rights Training is to provide guidance concerning the FNS Instruction 113-1. The webinar highlights the appendices in the instructions that apply to Child Nutrition Programs, information on limited English proficiency, equal opportunities for religious organizations, public notification requirements, and program assurances. Financial Management Paid Lunch Equity Tool for SY 2013-14 (Duration: 53:12)
This presentation addresses Section 205/SP 25-2013 of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.  This provision requires SFAs participating in the NSLP to provide the same level of support for lunches served to students who are not eligible for free or reduced price lunches as for lunches served to students eligible for free lunches. The presentation provides information and guidance on Section 205, the items needed to complete the Paid Lunch Equity (PLE) tool, the components of the tool, the decision that the SFA has to make to determine how to be in compliance with Section 205 for the 2013-14 school year and a demonstration of the PLE tool (4 examples).

Nutrition Standards Offer vs. Serve and the National School Lunch Program 2012-13 (Duration: 15:58)
Specific food components and portion sizes must be offered in order to claim USDA reimbursement for meals served to students. The USDA meal pattern directs the food components that must be made available for all student meals in order for the School Food Authorities to claim federal reimbursement. This presentation provides guidance on the food components that must be offered in specific portion sizes depending on the age/grade of the student.
