2015 Pre-Conference – School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) Exam

The School Nutrition Administrator Conference is scheduled for October 28-31, 2015 and this year we will add a pre-conference session to provide an opportunity for you to obtain the SNS credential from the School Nutrition Association (SNA).

SNA established the SNS Credentialing Program in 1997 to enhance the professional image of school nutrition professionals, elevate professional standards and enhance individual performance.  The SNS Credential is a mark of excellence and achievement that reflects what it takes to manage school nutrition programs in today’s challenging climate. The SNS Credentialing Exam evaluates candidates’ knowledge and skills required to perform specific job activities related to managing or directing school nutrition programs.

SNA’s School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) Credentialing program is governed by the Certificate and Credentialing Governing Council, an autonomous arm of the School Nutrition Association. The Governing Council members and SNA Credentialing Program Staff are solely responsible for the policies and administration of SNA’s Credentialing program. This opportunity will be provided on October 28, 2015 at 8:00 AM at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center, 4700 Emperor Blvd, Durham, NC 27703. If you are interested, please download and use the SNS Credentialing Handbook & Application provided at: https://schoolnutrition.org/sns/ to register.

Contact Susan Thompson at susan.thompson@dpi.nc.gov if you need more information about this pre-conference session.

Q&A – Person in Charge (PIC) & Certified Food Protection Manager Replacement Certificate

QUESTIONANSWER
How does one obtain a replacement certificate showing that a person in charge (PIC) is a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM)?

The first step is to determine which organization issued the original certificate. There are 4 organizations administering the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approved CFPM exams which will yield the certificate upon successful completion. The organizations for these exams are listed below with contact information for purchasing a replacement certificate.

If you have questions please contact Susan Thompson at susan.thompson@dpi.nc.gov or 919-218-4090.
