DEADLINE - Reduced Price Breakfast Claims

It’s that time of year again!  Please submit the claim for June 2015 in the School Nutrition Technology System on or before Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in order for the SFAs to be reimbursed for the reduced price breakfast meals served.  The funds that are used to reimburse the SFAs are state funds that will revert June 30, 2015.  The federal reimbursement for the June 2015 claim will be issued to the SFAs in July 2015, so please be aware that a partial payment will be deposited and the email notification will only reflect the reduced price breakfast funding.

Summer Meals:  Transportation Support

The USDA Food and Nutrition Service wants to continue increasing the number of summer meals served to children.  The success of a summer meals program in some areas of the country; especially rural, is based on whether or not transportation is available to get children to meal sites or meals to where children are.  USDA is teaming up with the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and National Center for Mobility Management (NCMM) to provide summer meals sponsoring organizations with guidance on how to receive transportation support and funding, if it will improve their summer meals program.

If you are a summer meals sponsoring organization please complete the Transportation Support Request Form (which is online) and submit it promptly.  Representatives from the Food and Nutrition Service, Federal Transit Administration and National Center for Mobility Management will contact them after receiving their Request Form.

If you have any questions please contact Cynthia Ervin at Cynthia.ervin@dpi.nc.gov.
