Safe Plates for SN Staff

Safe Plates for School Nutrition Staff is a six-module course for school staff who need food safety instruction. It will provide 4 hours of professional development credit. There are 4 additional modules in the course which can be completed for a total of 8 hours of instruction. This course has been approved by School Nutrition Association (SNA) as a food safety core course for their certification program. Completing the entire 8 hours of instruction will provide the required credit for the core course in food safety if needed. 

Our North Carolina State University Extension partners are hosting this course and the on-line option can provide an alternative to a face-to-face workshop when it is not feasible to bring employees together for instruction. 

This course and related quizzes cannot be used to achieve the Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certificate required by the NC Food Code for a Person in Charge (PIC) although it could be used as a review to help prepare for the CFPM exam.
