Update - Agreement Renewal - SY 2015-16

Don’t worry, you didn’t miss it.  The Annual Agreement for school year 2015-2016 was scheduled to be released to the SFAs on Monday, April 20, but as you know, things don’t always go according to plan.  We fully expected to launch renewal season on yesterday, but have encountered a couple of delays that are beyond our control.  We apologize for the delay and we will be in touch as soon as we get the green light.

In the meantime, as you are waiting to hear from us, we encourage you to take this opportunity to make sure you are prepared to complete the agreement renewal process.  Please review last week’s SN Weekly (April 14)  for some helpful information and instructions on preparing for Agreement Renewal 2015-2016.

It's Every Kid Healthy Week!

Every Kid Healthy™ Week, sponsored by Action for Healthy Kids, is an annual observance created to celebrate school health and wellness achievements.

It is observed the last week of April each year and shines a spotlight on the great efforts schools are making to improve the health and wellness of the students and the link between nutrition, physical activity and learning.

Healthy Lunchtime Challenge & Kids' "State Dinner"

First Lady Michelle Obama, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Education, and WGBH Boston invite students to enter the fourth annual Healthy Lunch Time Challenge & Kids’ “State Dinner.” The top recipe from each of the 50 states and territories will be chosen. The top chef and their parent or guardian will be flown to Washington, DC where they will attend the Kids’ State Dinner hosted by Michelle Obama.

Submission for the Healthy Lunchtime Challenge must be received by April 30, 2015.  In order to be eligible for this challenge, lunch submissions need to be an original recipe, created by a kid between the ages of 8-12 years old, and need to follow the MyPlate nutritional guidelines. Fruits and vegetables should make up about half of the recipe or dish, and it should also include whole grains, lean protein and low-fat dairy.
