How to Apply: SFA Sponsors

**VERY IMPORTANT** ALL STEPS OF THE APPROVAL PROCESS MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO SERVING MEALS FOR REIMBURSEMENT.  MEALS SERVED WITHOUT FINAL WRITTEN APPROVAL (FROM THE STATE AGENCY) TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SFSP PROGRAM WILL NOT BE REIMBURSED.

The 3 major steps needed to be approved and to begin operation of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) 

STEPSITEMS REQUIRED

Complete the Application Process
  • Complete the New SFA Application Checklist, if this is the first time operating the SFSP or there has been a lapse in participation

or

  • Complete the Returning SFA Application Checklist, if you participated in the SFSP during 2018

NOTE: Checklists are found in the download forms of the School Nutrition Technology system.
3 Required Annual Continuing Education
  1. RACE Online Completion – Required for at least two administrative personnel involved in the administration of the SFSP
  2. RACE Live- Optional- 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Encouraged for all SFAs especially if scheduled for an administrative review.

3 Start the program after approval.
